Which test centre should you choose in South West London and Surrey
Your test centre decides the roads you will be tested on. Picking one you have actually practised on matters more than chasing pass rate tables.
Morden and Mitcham
These are the usual centres for learners in Morden, Wimbledon, Colliers Wood, Sutton and Cheam. Expect busy urban routes, bus lanes, cyclists and plenty of traffic light junctions.
Examiners here see a lot of hesitancy at busy junctions. Practising decisive but safe gap judgement is the single biggest improvement most learners can make.
Chertsey
Chertsey suits learners around Surbiton, Esher, Claygate, Cobham, Walton and Weybridge. Routes mix suburban roads with faster stretches and country lanes.
The skills that matter here are speed adjustment on bends, overtaking judgement, and confident use of national speed limit roads.
Guildford
Guildford routes include the gyratory, the steep high street area and A3 access. Hill starts genuinely come up, so manual learners need solid clutch control on slopes.
How to choose
Pick the centre whose roads you have driven most, not the one with the best statistics. A route you know beats a route that looks easier on paper.
